ELLA BLUMENTHAL was born in Warsaw, Poland, on August 15, 1921. After the Nazi invasion of Poland, Ella and her family were deported to the Warsaw ghetto. Ella was a direct witness to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. She survived in hiding at Mila 19 but was later betrayed and deported. She is a survivor of Majdanek, Auschwitz, and Bergen-Belsen where she was liberated by the British on April 15, 1945. Ella just celebrated her 100th birthday. She continues to live life with passion, zest, optimism, and faith.
